The Santa Rosa Latino Faculty and Staff Association will host its fourth annual Latino Graduation Reception to honor Latino students for reaching their academic goals, and to recognize the critical role that Latino parents and families play in the retention, academic success and graduation of their loved ones on Saturday.

The free reception will include Aztec dancing, light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres. It will begin at 10 a.m., on the first floor of the Lawrence A. Bertolini Student Center on SRJC’s Santa Rosa campus.

Congressman Mike Thompson will present certificates to the graduates.

Vanessa Robledo, founder and CEO of VR Wine Business Consulting, will deliver the keynote speech.

The celebration will give SRJC students an opportunity to acknowledge those who have been supportive of their educational endeavors, and serve as an example for the younger generation in the community that they, too, can attain a college education.

The reception commemorates SRJC Latino or Latina students who have completed or will complete by the end of this semester at least one of the following:

• AA/AS degree

• CTE or other certificate program

• ESL completion

• GED certificate

• All requirements for university transfer

• Those who have previously graduated from SRJC
