Fire calls

The Petaluma Fire Department recorded 109 calls during the weeks of July 31 to Aug. 6.

Thursday, Aug. 3

11:20 a.m.: A vehicle accident on Lakeville Highway reportedly sparked a vegetation fire that drew a response from multiple agencies. Crews cleared out after the fire was extinguished.

2 p.m.: An unattended pot smoking on the stove at an unoccupied 1148 Baywood Drive apartment caused an estimated $1,000 in damages. Firefighters forced entry into the home, put out the fire in the pot and cleared the smoke out of the apartment.
