Police: Woman arrested after unprovoked assault with beer bottle at Petaluma bar

A Santa Rosa woman was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly hitting an individual in the forehead with a beer bottle at Maguire’s Pub.|

A Santa Rosa woman was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly hitting an individual in the forehead with a beer bottle at Maguire’s Pub.

Police and fire personnel responded to the reported assault at the 145 Kentucky St. business shortly before 1:30 a.m., according to a Petaluma Police Department news release.

Police believe that 22-year-old Samantha Carranza Montanez struck the victim in an unprovoked attack. The pair didn’t know each other, police said.

No other details about the victim or the extent of the injuries were released.

Carranza Montanez was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
