25 new Sonoma County businesses worth checking out

If you’re looking for something new to try this year, check out these recently opened restaurants, brands and stores.|

2017 was a banner year for new business in Sonoma County, launching a bunch of new restaurants, brands, and stores.

Innovations included Panic Pants an easily packable emergency clothes for children who have accidents. Restaurants included a cadre of farm-to-table eateries including Santa Rosa’s Flower + Bone and Petaluma’s Drawing Board.

But the real growth this year was in cannabis, especially in the industrial sector. Since the beginning of 2017, cannabis businesses have spurred at least 18 industrial property transactions in Santa Rosa worth more than $40 million. On top of processing a handful of edible producers and store fronts have launched or are slated to open.
