Petaluma firefighters Monday morning battled a structure fire at a medical office across the street from Petaluma Valley Hospital. The fire, reported at 8:45 a.m., was located at 108 Lynch Creek Way.

The fire was contained to one office with smoke and water damage seen in two adjacent units, according to firefighters, who cut holes in the roof to limit smoke and fire spread. Investigators were brought in and it was determined that the fire had started in the attic of the building, fire officials said. The cause is still under investigation.

The fire was under control by 10 a.m. There were no injuries and fire officials estimated the damage at $25,000 to the structure and another $25,000 to the contents.

Rancho Adobe Fire, Cal Fire, Wilmar Fire, Sonoma Fire and San Antonio Fire all assisted the Petaluma Fire Department.
