Junior high bands to play Anthem at Giants game

Members of the Petaluma Junior High and Kenilworth Junior High School bands will be featured April 6 as part of the opening ceremonies when the San Francisco Giants take on the Los Angeles Dodgers at AT&T Park. Members of the local bands will take center field to perform the National Anthem just prior to the first pitch.

This treasured tradition of PEF Giants Night brings a bit of Petaluma to the big leagues while generating donations for the Petaluma Educational Foundation which supports all 38 public, private and charter schools in Petaluma.

Special “PEF Section” seats are available through PEF for $30 each. A portion of the ticket sales for the upper view reserve block of seats will go to support PEF programs, benefiting more than 13,000 students annually.

“Partnering with our local junior high band programs in this way allows us to put the talented group of young students in front of thousands of Bay Area baseball fans. It is a memory these students willnever forget - to be on the field with MLB players watching them perform for the crowd. Each year this event becomes more and more popular, both for the students and those who attend the game to cheer on our local musical all-stars,” says PEF Executive Director Maureen Highland. “We continue to be amazed and honored by the support of the community.”
