VFW asks, ‘Why I honor the flag?’

Essay contest for junior high students.|

Petaluma-area junior high school students are invited to compete for national prizes in the VFW Patriot’s Pen essay contest.

This year’s theme is: “Why I honor the American Flag. The contest s open to all students in sixth, seventh or eighth grades. National winners receive a minimum of $500. The overall champion receives $5,000 and an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C. along with a parent or guardian.
