Two late-night fights bring arrests in Petaluma

Petaluma police broke up two fights in the downtown that began late Saturday, including one involving about a dozen people.

Three people were arrested from the various disturbances.

The first fight took place about 11:25 p.m. on Kentucky Street and involved “numerous subjects,” police said in a news release. Among those fighting was Rafael Magana, 26, of Marin, who was booked into Sonoma County Jail after police learned he had a no-bail warrant for his arrest.

A second fight broke out shortly before ?1:30 a.m. Sunday in the Keller Street garage, with about 12 people involved. When police arrived, Eduardo Cruz-Martinez, 23, of Santa Rosa, “shoved a police officer and squared off with the officer in a fighting stance,” the news release stated. Martinez was subdued and booked into jail on suspicion of battery on a police officer and violation of probation.

Also arrested was Richard Alonso-Jimenez, 22, of Santa Rosa, on suspicion of fighting in a public place.
