Poll: Most somewhat prepared for wildfire
Most respondents in an online Argus-Courier poll said they were somewhat prepared for a wild fire like the Valley Fire that devastated Lake County.
About 47 percent said they were knew in theory what to do in the event of a fire, while 35 percent said they were woefully ill-prepared.
Here are some of the comments:
--
“Dumb question, 95 percent of Petaluma homes aren’t even in a wildland fire threat area.”
--
“Being a California Libtard I would get 15 million illegal friends and run towards the flames.”
--
“Dumb question for Petaluma.”
--
“I am prepared for an earthquake but I have never thought of what to do in case of a wildfire.”
--
“I’m packed up and ready to go.”
--
“I’ve poured concentric 5-foot wide concrete rings around my home and installed a roof sprinkler system fed by two 800-gallon cisterns. All buildings have clay roofs and stone/cinder block walls.”
--
“Stupid question since most of Petaluma has yards the size of a postage stamps and farm areas are soaked with cow dung.”
--
“I’ve read CalFire’s website and know what to do. Doesn’t seem like a problem around here, though.”
