A majority of respondents to an online Argus-Courier poll said that they do not support Rep. Jared Huffman’s decision to sign on to Articles of Impeachment for President Trump.

Here are some comments:

“We all know that civilizations rise and fall. Trump has pushed ours off a cliff. With the corruption, nepotism, lies, and kowtowing to Putin, we are becoming a banana republic. Thank you Rep. Huffman for trying to stall our descent.”

“Aside from making the highest office of our land an international laughingstock, this man and his fellow oligarchs are a threat to our democracy and the natural environment.”

“Get over it. He was elected. If he’s not doing a good job we’ll find out in the next election. Vote for someone else.”

“He was elected to represent all of us, not just those who don’t like Trump and want to find anyway to disrespect the people who voted for him. There are too many things that Mr. Huffman should be putting his energies into. Help us instead of dividing us.”

“I don’t think it has been proven yet that Trump has committed ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ while in office. But he should be put on notice that every little thing is being looked at. His run up to taking office though, could be a text book on how to use laundered money for your business projects. He also appears to have no accurate concept of how the U.S. government’s branches and departments work. His presidency needs to become part of history sooner than later.”

“I would prefer my representative to focus on real issues. Let’s wait and see what the special counsel develops and then, if necessary, forward articles of impeachment.”

“This is absurd. First you have to have someone who has done something to be impeached. Just wishing for that is not a basis to sign or do anything nor is just disliking someone.”

“Trump makes Richard Nixon look good. I thought it wasn’t possible to ever have a president as bad as Nixon, but Trump has succeeded.”

“Where are the hard facts to base such an extreme move for impeachment?”
