Nadell, Langdon, Hale among NBL’s best

A trio of Casa Grande standouts have been named to the All-North Bay League softball first team by the league coaches.

Chosen for the first team were junior infielder Lisa Nadell, junior outfielder Alexus Hale and senior outfielder Sara Langdon.

Nadell was the Lady Gauchos’ main power source. She batted .354 with three doubles. She also had two of Casa’s four home runs. In addition, she provided a solid glove in the Lady Gaucho infield.

Hale bated .358 and slugged a double, triple and a single. She had a .443 on-base percentage.

Langdon was one of the Redwood Empire’s best defensive outfielders and a key to the Casa Grande offense in the leadoff position. She batted a stratospheric .472 with a team-leading 27 hits and had a .483 on-base percentage.

Sammy Sievers, a junior, and Christina Wilson, a freshman, were picked for the second team.

Sievers hit .352 and led the team with 14 RBIs, while slugging three doubles, a triple and a home run.

Wilson had an immediate impact on the varsity, batting .379 with a .404 on-base percentage.

The Maria Carrillo coaching staff of Lonnie Harwell, Tom Keith and Jim Veler was picked Coach of the Year as a unit.
