Petaluma High’s Michelle Larsen added to her growing reputation as one of the state’s top wrestlers, winning the heavyweight division in the Julie Gonzalez Tournament in Vallejo.

She won by avenging a loss to the state’s No. 2-ranked heavyweight, Johanna Mack of Castlemont in Oakland.

Larsen recorded four straight pins on her way to the showdown with Mack. She disposed of two opponents in the first round, one in just 19 seconds.

It was almost no contest against Mack, who had beaten Larsen in an earlier tournament in Napa as Larsen cruised to a 10-1 decision.

Cindy Diaz finished seventh for Petaluma with a 2-2 record at 103 pounds. Wendy Orozco was 1-3 and finished fourth at 113. Freida Carmano competed, but did not place at 123.
