The St. Vincent High School varsity baseball Mustangs stepped out of a hotly contested North Central League II baseball race to take on the Sonoma County League’s Healdsburg Greyhounds and shut out the larger school, 3-0.

Liam Galten pitched a strong game for St. Vincent, allowing just four hits. He walked none and struck out seven. It was his third complete game of the season. He has now worked 24 innings without giving up an earned run and has pitched back-to-back shutouts.

St. Vincent had only four hits, but made the most of its opportunities.

The game was scoreless through three innings.

In the fourth inning, Dominic Pedersen singled, stole second and, with two outs, scored on a clutch single by Reilly Tobin.

With two out in the fifth inning, the Mustangs loaded the bases on a hit batter (George Sammon), a single by Sky Doble and a walk to Pedersen. Two runs scored on a throwing error by the Healdsburg third baseman.

Doble had two of the Mustangs’ four hits.

St. Vincent is now 16-4.
