Busy week for LL All-Star teams
District 35 Little League All-Star play begins this week with the Petaluma National League hosting the 10-11-year-old tournament, and several first- and second-round Major League games played at Petaluma Valley and Petaluma American diamonds.
9-10-year-olds
The winner of Wednesday’s Petaluma Valley vs. Petaluma National game will play at 5:30 tonight (Thursday) at Mark West Springs. The loser of the Wednesday games plays Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Healdsburg Little League.
If Petaluma American League defeats Rincon Valley on Wednesday night, the Americans will face El Molino at 5:30 tonight at Rincon Valley. A loss and the Americans play at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rincon Valley.
10-11-year-olds
The 10-11-year-old tournament being played at the Petaluma Nationals’ Carter Field on the Petaluma Junior High School campus begins Friday. In two first-round games scheduled for opening night, Petaluma American faces Rincon Valley and Santa Rosa American takes on Willits. Both games are at 5:30 p.m.
The tournament resumes Sunday with Petaluma Valley opening against Ukiah at 11 a.m. and Petaluma National taking on the winner of the Santa Rosa American/Willits game at 2 p.m.
Major League
The Major League Tournament for 11-12-year-olds starts today (July 2) with an All-Petaluma clash at the Valley League’s Murphy Field between Petaluma Valley and Petaluma National. Meanwhile, the Petaluma Americans also play on their home field, opening against Westside at Lucchesi Park. Both games start at 5:30 p.m.
All tournaments are double elimination, with winners advancing to Section tournaments.
