T-Girl softball star Krist chosen for All-State team

The honors keep rolling in for Petaluma High School graduate and University of Arizona-bound Joelle Krist.

Cal-Hi sports has named the All-Empire and All-League slugger to its ?prestigious All-State first team.

The four-year varsity standout concluded her high school career by batting .529 with 46 hits in 28 games, including 11 doubles, three triples and six home runs (two grand slams).

he drove in 46 runs, while striking out just three times.

Playing both first ?and third base, she committed just one error all season.

While Krist’s high school career has ended, Casa Grande High School junior Spencer Torkelson’s is just beginning.

Torkelson was named to the All-State baseball underclass second team.

In his sophomore season and second on the Casa varsity, he batted .376, and led the Gauchos with 32 hits, driving in 21 runs with eight doubles and two home runs, while playing outstanding defense at third base.
