Casa, Petaluma mat teams both win

Casa Grande used heavyweight dominance to defeat Rancho Cotate, 57-21, in a North Bay League match wrestled on the Rancho mat last week.

Casa won everything from 170 pounds up to claim the victory. Justin Naugle at 170 pounds, Jacob Black at 182 and Jacob Voight at 220 all won by forfeit while Nick Jensen at 195 and heavyweight Kameron Chase were pin winners.

Jason Goldblat at 120 pounds, and Phillip Johnson at 138 ponds were also pin winners for the Gauchos.

Aaron Krupinsky at 126 pounds earned an 11-4 decision at 126 pounds.

Trojans pin Lions

The Petaluma High School wrestling team used pins from Eric Machado and Daniel Pacheco as the keys to a 48-29 Sonoma County League dual meet win over El Molino.

Machado at 170 pounds, pinned Christian Ohlin, while heavyweight Pacheco stopped Travis Adams.

It was a tough match for the Trojans, who had to overcome five pins by El Molino to pull out the team win.

Petaluma received five forfeit wins that proved the difference in the team match.

Petaluma’s Connor Pederson won a tough 6-3 decision over Jahmye Daly at 108 pounds and Dominic Ayers prevailed over Edmundo Lopez a 147 pounds for Petaluma.
