The Petaluma Steal Breeze under 14 fast pitch softball team played an impressive brand of softball last weekend, winning the DF Softball Diamond Wars tournament in Martinez with a perfect 6-0 record. Steal Breeze played consistent softball, highlighted by a potent offensive attack that allowed them to stay close, or come from behind in games.

Kaleigh Pate and Alex Lyons each hit deep home runs that ignited big team offensive games. Presley Fuoff and Kaleigh Weiand led and maintained consistent and hot bats the entire weekend. Teresa McGaughey, Katrina Yardley, Abbie Delaney and Alyssa Smith delivered key hits in tightly contested games that led to big innings.

Kamryn Sobel and Emma Weiand made big plays in the outfield on a consistent basis, squashing the opposition big play opportunities while putting their team in a position to win.

Steal Breeze got strong starting pitching performances from Morgan Robertson, Ashley Casper, Kalia Awohi, and Mandy O’Keefe. The Steal Breeze coaching staff utilized the pitching depth that helped the girls stay fresh and energized on a hot weekend in Martinez.

Steal Breeze under 14 is managed by Sean O’Keefe. The assistant coaches are Steve Smith, Corey Weiand and Matt Ruoff.
