T-Girls go cold in final quarter in loss to Piner

The Petaluma High School girls basketball team made a good run at recording its second Sonoma County League win of the season, but went cold in the final quarter Wednesday night, losing at Piner, 45-41.

After an even first half that found Petaluma leading 20-18 at the break, the T-Girls apparently took control of the game, scoring 18 points in the third period for a 38-26 lead.

However, the T-Girls scored just three points in the final quarter as the Prospectors came roaring back.

Sydney Lewis led Piner with 22 points.

Nichole Costa and Jaden Krist each scored 12 points for Petaluma.

Petaluma is now 5-13 on the season and 1-2 in SCL play going into a game at Healdsburg tonight.

Piner is 5-12 on the season and 3-2 in league.
