Girls tune up for lacrosse season with Play Day

North Bay teams come out for third annual event held at Petaluma park|

Winter paused long enough Saturday to allow 14 high school lacrosse teams to enjoy the third annual North Bay High School Girls Lacrosse Play Day sponsored by Petaluma High School.

The teams participated in a full day of friendly games on the all-weather turf at East Washington Park.

Playing, along with varsity and junior varsity teams from host Petaluma High, were teams from Branson, Novato, Redwood, Cardinal Newman, Rancho Cotate, Windsor, Marin Academy, Marin Catholic, San Marin and Urban. Many of the schools brought along both varsity and junior varsity teams.

Petaluma opens its season Saturday with a home match against Livermore. Faceoff is at 1 p.m.
