Trojan tennis team remains perfect

The Trojan tennis team swpt two more matches to remain perfect on the season.|

The Petaluma High School tennis team won its second straight Sonoma County League match by a perfect 7-0 score, defeating visiting Healdsburg.

Petaluma’s Nos. 1-2 singles players won easily. Nathan Wong prevailed over Parker Brem, 6-2, 6-2, and Connor Gors beating Patrick Doran, 6-1, 6-0.

The Trojans’ other singles players had to battle. Alex Dodd won over Will Hambly, 6-2, 4-6, 10-8, and Vince Bermont beat John Dow, 6-4, 6-7 (10-7).

All three Petaluma doubles teams - Adam Volk and Zach Lenovs; Colton Moss and Farris Mughannam; and Kahalil Tams and Griffin Epstein - won in straight sets.

Petaluma doubles teams of Hayden Dennis and Aiden Cannon; Gabe Jardine and Marley Noble; and Jack Anderson and Logan Reuter won exhibitions.

Petaluma followed up that win with a 7-0 sweep of Analy. Wong, Gors, Zach Leno and Dodd won singles matches without losing a set.

Bermont joined Volk; Colt Moss teamed with Mughannam; and Tams joined Hayden Dennis for doubles victories.
