T-Girls continue heavy hitting for second straight win
Petaluma High School’s softball T-Girls have finally got their bats working. After a struggling 0-4-1 start, Petaluma has won its last two games, last week ripping 17 hits in a 12-0 five-inning victory at El Molino.
Emily O’Keefe gave the Trojans five strong pitching innings, allowing just one hit, while not walking a batter and striking out nine.
She had plenty of offensive support. The T-Girls scored four runs in their opening at bat and closed out the game with a six-run rally in the top of the sixth inning.
Ten T-Girls contributed to the attack. Jenna Siacci had a hit and scored a run; Ava Chabot tripled, singled, scored a run and drove in a run; Brooke Symons had a hit and scored a run; Chandler Mevis enjoyed a big game with three hits, including a double, two runs scored and an RBI; Mia Pariani had a hit and drove in a run; Indya Smith doubled, scored a run and drove in two; Grace Ghiradelli had two hits, scored a run and drove in a run; O’Keefe had a hit, scored twice and drove in a run; Emma Weiland had two hits and a sacrifice fly, driving in two runs; and Kayla Beaton had two hits and scored a run.
Petaluma is now 2-4-1 on the season and 1-1 in Sonoma County League play going into a Thursday game at Piner.
