Petaluma dominates tennis rival Casa Grande
The Petaluma High School tennis team turned its rivalry match against Casa Grande one-sided Thursday afternoon, losing just one set on its way to a 7-0 win.
In singles play: Petaluma’s Nathan Wong won over Casa Grande’s Athrexa Rangavajhula, 6-4, 6-3; Connor Gors stopped Shreyas Kompalli, 7-6 (2), 6-3; Zach Leno mastered Justin Marin, 6-4, 6-3; and Adam Volk beat Mason Chiang, 6-0, 6-3.
The closest Casa Grande came to a win came in No. 1 doubles, where Vince Bermont and Hayden Dennis had to come back to defeat Casa’s Manas Varna and Sam Fuller, 1-6, 6-2, 10-5 in a tiebreaker.
In other doubles play, Petaluma’s Khalil Tarns and Colton Moss conquered Sai Nadenela and Paul Srrafimesca, 6-3, 6-3, and Griffin Epstein and Farris Mugannam defeated Taiyo Logan and Aiden Kledren, 6-3, 6-2.
