Gauchos still chase NBL win

Overtime loss to Santa Rosa keeps Gauchos winless in North Bay League play.|

It has been a tough start to the North Bay League season for Casa Grande’s boys basketball team that will be looking for its first league win tonight when it hosts Ukiah’s Wildcats.

The Gauchos came close to that elusive first victory Tuesday night when they took Santa Rosa’s Panthers into overtime before losing, 46-43.

The game was close all the way, ending tied, 41-41, at the end of regulation. The Gauchos scored just one basket in the overtime.

Josh Jovick led Casa with 11 points.

Last week, the Gauchos lost to Maria Carrillo, 67-55, and Montgomery, 56-39.
