Construction for Sonoma Fit Petaluma is underway. Adam and Jenny Kovacs, the owners of Sonoma Fit, said that they project a September opening for their second club. Memberships are being sold now.

Sonoma Fit Petaluma is a 20,000-square-foot fitness facility located near downtown at 90 Casa Grande Road.

According to the owners, Sonoma Fit Petaluma will contain three group fitness studios with more than 100 classes scheduled per week, including Indoor cycling, TRX, yoga, circuit training, dance and senior fitness. Room X will be a studio within the gym focused on team training.

The main fitness floor cardio room will offer treadmills, stair climbers, ellipticals, ascent trainers, alpine trainers, rowers, stationary bicycles (some equipped with Kovacs’s ride technology), skiers, assault bikes, krankcycles, marpo rope trainers, versa climbers and more.

There will be a dedicated TRX zone with straps, free weights, kettlebells and medicine balls.

The new club will have a full line of Hoist Roc-It selectorized equipment. A separate athletic training area will have the heavy lifting equipment, an Olympic rig with bumper plates, multiple squat racks and a 60-foot turf field, and dumbells up to 125 pounds.

“We will even have an outdoor turf area if you want to take your workout outside,” said Adam Kovacs.

Sonoma Fit Petaluma will also have an outdoor lap pool and hot tub.

The Kovacs are not sure if the outside area will be completed on opening day but, if not, they expect it will be available soon after.

Master swim and aqua classes will be added to the group fitness schedule as soon as the pool area is complete.

The Club’s hours will be Monday to Friday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Sonoma Fit members will have full use of the Petaluma facility.
