After a 13-day break, the Tomales High School baseball Braves get serious about the baseball thing this week.

The Braves haven’t played since April 4 when they clobbered Potter Valley, 20-6. They get back into action in a big way this week, playing at Rincon Valley Christian on Thursday after visiting Credo in Rohnert Park on Tuesday.

Through five games, Tomales has shown an ability to swing strong bats, slugging its way to a 3-2 record. As a team, the Braves are hitting a healthy .349.

Outfielder Carson Skavdal is hitting a hefty .818 with nine hits in 11 at bats. He isn’t the only Brave making regular contact.

Alex Chavarria is batting .417 with five hits in 12 at bats and a team-high seven runs scored. David Gomez is hitting .533 with eight hits in 15 at bats. Sophomore Felipe Martinez is at .429 with six hits in 14 at bats and sophomore Travis Franceschi is batting .375 with three hits in eight at bats.
