HARVEST BARN DANCE – Benefit for Tara Firma Farms Institute

What’s happening? It’s an evening of good, old-fashioned square dancing with a modern day twist, with live music by Evie Ladin, held out at the beautiful Tara Firma Farm.

OYSTER CUP CHARITY POLO TOURNAMENT – Benefitting Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center

Saturday, Aug. 25, 1 to 5 p.m.

What’s happening? The 2018 Oyster Cup Charity Polo Tournament, featured in Town & Country Magazine, has become an annual fundraising tradition, blending food and wine, music and polo for an afternoon of sun, fun and good deeds at the exclusive Cerro Pampa Polo Club, tucked away amid the hills of Petaluma.

Who does it help? All proceeds go to support Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center, providing opportunities for disadvantaged folks, those recovering from trauma, and kids with disabilities, who find healing through guided encounters with gentle horses. Giantstepsriding.com.

TRAXX BAR & GRILL GOLF TOURNAMENT – A benefit for the Petaluma Educational Foundation

Monday, Aug. 27, 11 a.m.

What’s happening? The 13th annual Traxx Bar & Grill Golf Tournament takes place at Rooster Run Golf Course, and features prizes for first, second and third place teams. Additionally, there will be awards for the longest drive, and closest to the pin. Lunch at the golf course is included, and after the tourney, the awards will be presented during dinner at Traxx Bar & Grill.

Who does it help? All proceeds go to support local kindergarten-12th grade students through the Petaluma Educational foundation. www.PEFinfo.com.

BREWS AND BITES FOR BOUNTY – Fundraiser for Petaluma Bounty

Monday, Aug. 27, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

What’s happening? The Highway Poets lead the musical charge at this tuneful evening of rock and roll, dancing, dinner (in part cooked up from fresh veggies raised by Petaluma Bounty and Red H Farm) and lots of other stuff. Because no fundraiser worth its weight would dream of NOT having a raffle or silent auction, this one will have a raffle AND a silent auction. The event takes place in the Beer Sanctuary at Lagunitas Brewing Company.

Who does it help? Petaluma Bounty is a program of the Petaluma People Services Center, working to give all members of the community access to good, healthy food. The program promotes wise eating through educational efforts, and public events.

BOURBON STREET BASH – A benefit for Petaluma Educational Foundation

Saturday, Sept. 8, 5:30 p.m.

What’s happening? Pretend you are in New Orleans, jazzing it up with the locals and letting some good times roll, as Petaluma Educational Foundation throws one of the biggest parties of the year, with a Louisiana twist. The gala bash begins with a cocktail party at 5:30 (including silent auction perusals), moves on to dinner and an auction, and end with dancing to the toe-tapping tunes of Pride and Joy.

Who does it help? Petaluma Educational foundation works to assure an excellent education for all K-12 students in Petaluma, through programs such as Fund the Future and its annual Impact Grants. www.PEFinfo.com.
