Benefit for 'iRide Petaluma'

The Petaluma People Services Center will launch its new iRide Petaluma volunteer driver program Tuesday, Feb. 25 in a fundraising event at Lagunitas Brewing Co.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the outdoor Beer Sanctuary of the brewery at 1280 N. McDowell Blvd.

PPSC, in conjunction with the Petaluma Senior Center, is launching iRide Petaluma, a volunteer driver program for people who are unable to use the bus or who need transportation within Petaluma. The program will utilize a network of volunteers who will use their own vehicles to drive seniors to their appointments, providing a personalized one-on-one transportation service.

Admission is $5, which includes appetizers prepared by chef Tracy Gentry. One hundred percent of the beer sales will be donated to the iRide Petaluma program.

Live music will be provided by Los Gu'achis, a Petaluma group that plays songs of Mexico, the Southwest, Early California and other places.
