The Petaluma Fire Department recorded 116 incidents during the period from May 1-May 7

Monday, May 1

8:356 a.m.: Multiple Petaluma Fire Department units responded to a head-on vehicle collision at 1140 East Washington St. Traffic control measures were initiated and personnel cleared debris from the scene and transported 19-year old Novato woman to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and a Santa Rosa male juvenile to Petaluma Valley Hospital.

1:27 p.m.: Firefighters responded to reports that a man fell from his bike at El Rose Drive. The man was discovered laying on the ground and the helmet he was apparently wearing at the time of the solo crash was found in the street. The man, later identified as Peter Ehrlich, 69, of Petaluma, was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. He passed away the following day.

Thursday, May 4

5:49 p.m..: A fire that sparked in the garage of a 1541 E. Madison St. residence caused more than $70,000 in damage to the home and killed a family cat. Two teens discovered the fire when they returned home, according to a press release from the Petaluma Fire Department. The blaze spread through the garage and kitchen, causing significant damage. Smoke also damaged other areas in the home. There were no injuries to residents or firefighters.
