About 45 Gan Israel Preschool students and their parents celebrated a pre-Passover Seder at the Petaluma school Thursday afternoon, complete with matzo ball soup, haroset, grape juice and cute frog masks. The masks represented one of the 10 plagues inflicted by God in the story of the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt, which the weeklong Passover holiday commemorates.

Gan Israel Preschool, which will mark its 40th anniversary in the coming school year, has been holding a family Passover celebration for the past eight years, said Leslee Lauritzen, director of the preschool.
