Petaluma Police Sunday arrested a suspect in connection with a burglary at the Petaluma City Schools maintenance yard.

Minh Luong, a 35-year-old transient, was arrested just after 2 a.m. He surrendered to police inside the fenced maintenance yard after officers surrounded the area and announced the presence of a K9 unit.

During the investigation, officers located evidence that Luong pried open a portion of a fence to make entry into the maintenance yard, according to a police press release. Luong was wearing latex gloves and was in possession of pliers, a gas hose and a face mask, police said.

Luong was transported and booked at the Sonoma County jail.
