Sonoma County sheriff’s detectives are investigating the sexual assault, beating and robbery of a San Francisco woman.

The 24-year-old woman was found near Safeway in Sonoma before dawn Saturday. She told detectives she’d been beaten and assaulted by two men in a car she thought belonged to a ride-sharing company, according to the Sheriff’s Office Monday.

The woman had been drinking in San Francisco’s Mission District at Bruno’s Bar before closing Saturday and had called for a ride to pick her up and take her home, according to the release.

She got inside the vehicle and found a man in the back seat, officials said.

The driver took them to Sonoma where she said she was beaten and choked by the man in the backseat and sexually assaulted by both men.

She escaped and was found at the grocery with face and neck injuries. She was missing her black boots, cellphone and identification. She couldn’t describe the car, and wasn’t sure if it actually was from a ride-sharing company. She said the two men spoke a foreign language, officials said.

The Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with information to call detectives at 707-565-2185.
