A 7-month-old girl died in a three-car crash on Lakeville Highway that sent eight people to the hospital Thursday night, the CHP said.

Around 8:12 p.m., Ryan Deloye, 18, of Granite Bay was driving northbound on Lakeville Highway near Old Lakeville Road No. 2 when his silver VW Jetta crossed the double-yellow lines, the CHP said.

Deloye crashed head on into a white Ford Explorer driven by Folsom’s Caitlin Marshall, 31, who had a passenger in the front and four children in the back of the car, the CHP said.

Marshall’s car was thrown to the right and off the roadway. The right side of the car hit a tree, Sgt. Josh Kolstad said.

Deloye’s Jetta spun out of control, colliding into the right side of a southbound blue Ford Fusion driven by Matthew Swoyer, 25, of Fairfield, the CHP said.

A 7-month-old passenger of the Explorer was taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Kolstad said. Three other children, ages 1, 3 and 5, were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries, Kolstad said.

All the children were in car seats or wearing seatbelts, he said.

Marshall and her 32-year-old female passenger were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries, Kolstad said.

It was unclear where the children were from, or if they were related to Marshall or her passenger, he said.

Deloye was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for minor injuries, including a cut to his head, Kolstad said.

Swoyer was taken to Kaiser in Terra Linda with minor injuries, he said.

Further updates on their conditions were not available Friday morning.

Lakeville Highway was closed for four hours, the CHP said. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. No arrests have been made.

No further details were available Friday morning.
