Police: Two Rock fire no threat to Petaluma

A grass fire west of Petaluma is posing no threat to the city, police said.|

The Petaluma Police Department said its dispatch center was inundated with calls Friday afternoon from residents concerned about smoke blowing into the area.

According to a Nixle alert sent around 5 p.m., an active vegetation fire is burning through the 2100 block of Middle Two Rock Road, west of Petaluma.

Fire personnel are on the scene and no structures are threatened, the alert said.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
