SV girls soccer win streak at 14

The St. Vincent girls soccer team extended its winning streak to 14 with two more victories last week.|

The St. Vincent girls soccer team’s winning streak grew to 14 straight last week with a 4-1 win over Technology High and a 7-0 romp over Roseland College Prep.

The game against Technology was one of the toughest of the season, with the Mustangs leading just 1-0 at the half before their superior fitness prevailed in the second half.

Katie Gross, Julia Murphy, Athena Edwards and Grace Hosbein kicked in goals for St. Vincent, with Katie Gross and Edwards providing assists.

Outstanding defense was played by Patty Chelini, Lauren Vollert and Julia Murphy.

Katie Gross and Hosbein each scored two goals in the victory over Roseland College Prep.

Edwards, Isabella Welsh and Maggie Edwards also scored.

Clare Galten and Roxy Kavanaugh combined to record the shutout in goal.

The St. Vincent boys also recorded a big win, defeating Sonoma Academy, 4-1.
