Former Petaluma High School standout Greg Thomas had a foot in Cal’s 24-7 win over North Carolina on Saturday.
Thomas kicked three extra points and a 35-yard field goal in his debut as the Bears’ kicker.
After leaving Petaluma High as a two-time all-league selection, Thomas spent two years at Arizona State as a red-shirt freshman and true freshman, but he did not see any game action.
He played last season at City College of San Francisco, where he made 10 of 15 field-goal attempts and finished second in scoring on the team with 86 points.
This season, he won a competition with three other kickers to become Cal’s No. 1 kicker.
