Festive homes glowing with holiday cheer

Here are the winners of the City of Lights home and business decorating contests.|

Once again the winners of Petaluma’s City of Lights Home Decorating Contest went all out in the creativity and quantity of decorations and lights in their holiday displays.

The Tidwell family home at 1725 Clairmont Court earned the title of most festive spot and won first place in this year’s Home Decorating Contest. The home is No. 6 on the City of Lights Driving Tour map.

Second place winner is the Mandler Family at 1925 Clairmont Court (No. 7 on the map).

Sprouts Farmers Market in the East Washington Place shopping center donated a $100 gift card and $50 gift card to the winners.

The community is invited to help select the “People’s Choice” award winner from the 14 homes participating in the contest. Go online to visitpetaluma.com, click on the “Visit Petaluma” tab, then select “Holiday Happenings” to be directed to the link to the survey.

The map and list of addresses is also available on the website. The contest runs through Dec. 28.

In the Business Decorating Contest, the winner in the “Outdoor Decorations” category is Serendipity - A Chiropractic Wellness Center at 1197 E. Washington St.

The winners in the business “Window Decorations” category are: first place, Marisa’s Fantasia at 29 Petaluma Blvd. North; second place goes to iLeoni at 120 Kentucky St.; third place goes to Gallery One, 209 Western Avenue.

In the “Lobby Decorations” category the winners are: first place, Quality Inn at 5100 Montero Way; second place goes to Acorn Chiropractic Club at 151 Second St. (theme: “Frozen”); and third place is a tie between Summit State Bank at 100 Petaluma Blvd. South, suite A and Sequoia Senior Solutions at 1372 N. McDowell Blvd., Suite S.

Maps for the lighted homes and businesses can be picked up any time outside the front door at the Petaluma Visitors Center, 210 Lakeville St. in the train depot building (the entrance is just off of Washington Street).
