About the Petaluma Argus-Courier and Petaluma

The Petaluma Argus-Courier is an award-winning weekly newspaper committed to excellence in community journalism. The roots of the Argus-Courier go back to 1855 — three years before Petaluma was incorporated as a city.

The newspaper has been owned by Sonoma Media Investments, which also owns the Press Democrat and the Sonoma Index-Tribune, since November 2012.

The Argus-Courier staff is committed to providing its readers with high-quality, comprehensive coverage of Petaluma. The newspaper, which is published on Thursdays, has been recognized by the California Newspaper Publishers Association with the first-place award for General Excellence among all mid-sized weekly newspapers in California in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2018.
