Engines revving up for the weekend

The Petaluma Salvation Army hosts its annual card show on Saturday, March 28.|

The Petaluma Salvation Army hosts its third annual Spring Car Show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28 at Casa Grande High School, 333 Casa Grande Road.

There will be live music, food, merchandise vendors, prizes in each category of vehicle on display and drawings for gift baskets.

Admission to the car show is free and open to the public. Donations of canned food items for the Petaluma Salvation Army’s food pantry are welcome.

The cost to enter a vehicle in the show is $20 for all makes and models of cars and trucks; and $10 for motorcycles and bikes.

Proceeds benefit the various programs of the Petaluma Salvation Army, which include providing weekly groceries to low-income residents of Petaluma and Penngrove; back-to-school supplies for local students who can’t afford them; free music programs for youth; and Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets to families in need. The Salvation Army provides these humanitarian services to all people in need regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation.

Registration for the car show begins at 8 a.m. March 28, with the show opening to the public at 10 a.m. Registration may also be done in advance.
