That 1 Guy
As Mike Silverman’s stage name suggests, he’s pretty much a one-man-band, and his instrument - he calls it “The Magic Pipe” - has made the classically trained musician a one-of-a-kind act. A Dr. Seussian-looking, 7-foot-tall construction of steel plumbing pipes, rigged with electronic percussion sensors and orchestral double-bass strings, The Magic Pipe produces music that blends rock, surf, funk, punk, dub-step, and electronica into one massive happy danceable sound - aided by lyrics that are simultaneously silly and profound. The Mystic Theater, 21 Petaluma Blvd. 8:30 p.m. $15. 765-2121. Mystictheatre.com.
