Your Weekend: January 18-January 21

Four full days of music, movies and skiffle-tunes|

THURSDAY

Red Brick Restaurant Grand Opening featuring The Ron Lacey Trio

The newly dubbed Red Brick (formerly Graffiti Restaurant) officially opens with a grand opening party featuring jazz and blues music by the Ron Lacey Trio. 5:30–7:30 p.m. Red Brick, 101 2nd St. RedBrickRestaurants.com.

Mary and the Witch’s Flower

Described as “dazzling,” “magical,” and “full of wonder,” this new animated film from Oscar nominee Hiromasa Yonebayashi (he directed “The Secret World of Arrietty” and worked on Studio Ghibli’s “Spirited Away” and “Howl’s Moving Castle”) gets a special one-night-only (two screening) sneak peek at Peteluma’s Boulevard Cinemas.

The film, based on Mary Stewart’s pre-Harry Potter “The Little Broomstick,” follows a young witch learning to harness her powers at a mysterious school for witchcraft. Screenings at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets $15. CinemaWest.com.

FRIDAY

Pablo Cruise

The San Francisco-based ’70s hit-makers (“A Place in the Sun,” “Whatcha Gonna Do?” “Love Will Find a Way”) bring their breezy, dance-happy sound to the Mystic Theatre, with local opening band Dirty Red Barn. 8:30 p.m. $28-$30. Mystic Theater, 21 N. Petaluma Blvd. MysticTheatre.com.

Moonlight Rodeo

Born of informal jam sessions in the living room of old friends Kurt Huget, Jesse Lee Kinkaid, and Mayne Smith, this San Rafael-based roots-country-folk band eventually drew in Dave Getz (Big Brother and the Holding Company), and Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter, who - along with Huget - co-wrote five songs appearing on Moonlight Rodeo’s latest CD “Rio Lindo.” Twin Oaks Roadhouse, 5745 Old Redwood Hwy., Penngrove. 8:30 p.m. show. No cover. Twinoaksroadhouse.com.

SATURDAY

Everydayfreak with The Publiquors

Rohnert Park-based metal-punk-industrial rock quartet EveryDayFreak will be joined by Sonoma County’s punk-folk-metal rockers The Publiquors this Saturday at the Phoenix Theater.

Also on the bill are Bavmorda and The Echoing. 8 p.m. $10. 201 E. Washington St. ThePhoenixTheater.com.

Michelle Lambert

Born in the Bay Area, the sensational singer-songwriter-violinist Michele Lambert (probably best known for her pulse-pounding anthem “Warrior” and slinky YouTube video cover of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”) has been honing her musical chops in Nashville and Los Angeles, writing and recording and generally raising a musical ruckus. This weekend, she’s bringing her act to the Aqus Café, which had better have good roof insurance, since Lambert is likely to blow the top off the place. 7 p.m. No cover. 198 H. St. Aqus.com.

Charles Wheal Band

Powered by a love of blues and roots music, Charles Wheal - formerly with the Mark Hummel Band - has been out on his own, making his own passionate, crowd-pleasing music with a first-rate band. Lagunitas Brewing Company, 1280 N. McDowell Blvd. 3 p.m. No cover. Lagunitas.com.

SUNDAY

Rivertown Skifflers

As much fun as a birthday party grab-bag packed with off-the-wall plastic prizes, the Rivertown Skifflers blend the goofball pleasures of a skiffle band (washboards, kazoos, and other music making oddities) with lyrics that tickle the brain and foot-tapping melodies that pretty much beg you to dance like the silly, happy fun-lover you are. The Big Easy, 128 American Alley. 7:30 p.m. No cover. BigEasyPetaluma.com.
