Health center to hold grand opening

The Petaluma Health Center will hold a grand opening community celebration for its new health care facility from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12 at 1179 N. McDowell Blvd.

Activities will include relay races, hula-hoop, kinesthetic stations and workshops for kids. In addition, there will be free blood pressure and glucose testing for attendees, along with food and entertainment.

The new 53,000-square-foot center expands the center's primary care, mental health, dental care and chronic disease management services to Sonoma County residents.

The center's new "Center for Healthy Living" includes a demonstration kitchen, and active movement programs for kids and adults.
