Editor: I was just finishing up a lap of silence for Danny Cox at his beautiful memorial service on Sunday. I turned to face the field and saw Danny's dad, Chris Cox, releasing yellow and black balloons, one at a time, each streaking high into the sky. It was poignant, watching a father talking to his son across time as a thousand others looked on.
As his sister, Emily, said so well, don't miss the chance to tell your loved ones how much you care. Tonight, I'll remind my wife, son and daughter how much I love them. Thanks to Chris, Maureen and the family for reminding Petaluma what matters most. We'll keep remembering, Danny.
