The recent string of nighttime commercial burglaries in Petaluma has continued, with four more incidents occurring Thursday night, and caused Petaluma police to increase their efforts to locate a suspect.
Police received reports of the newest break-ins, all with the same pattern of a broken window or door to gain entry coupled with theft or attempted theft of cash, on Friday morning from Best Bowling Alley in the 1100 block of Petaluma Boulevard South, Sonoma Cutlery in the 100 block of Kentucky Street, a construction site in the 1200 block of Petaluma Boulevard North and a business in the 1300 block of Casa Grande Road.
Lt. Tim Lyons said that Petaluma police detectives are leading the investigation and trying to collect any physical evidence that will lead them to a suspect. In the meantime, Lyons added that police are boosting their nighttime patrols until something breaks in the case.
"We're trying to investigate all these break-ins together and feel they are most likely connected," said Lyons Tuesday morning.
Police are adding the four incidents reported Friday morning to others in the area, including break-ins at The Alano Club, Lumberjacks restaurant, Buffalo Wings, Irma's Beauty Salon and Very Yummy Frozen Yogurt. All burglaries occurred within the past nine weeks.
Police are asking that anyone with information on residential or commercial break-ins that have occurred over the last two months to call the Petaluma police department at 778-4372.
