Petaluma Valley Hospital nurses go on strike

Nurses and supporters lined North McDowell Boulevard in front of Petaluma Valley Hospital early Wednesday morning for a 24-hour strike protesting on-call pay cuts and procedures implemented by the hospital earlier this year. PVH has brought in extra nursing staff to replace the stirking nurses and says that care at the hospital will not be affected. Because the hospital's contract with the staffing firm US Nurses, the replacement nurses will remain on staff for five days.
