Police ask for help identifying theft suspects

Petaluma police are asking the public for help in identifying a man and a woman who stole a portable generator from a tire store last week.

Police said that on Dec. 8 at approximately 2:47 p.m. a man and a woman walked into the Triple S Tire store, in the 500 block of East Washington Street.

"The female suspect distracted the clerk, while the male suspect entered an employee area and picked up a portable generator," said Lt. Tim Lyons. "Both suspects then exited the store."

The generator is a Honda EU2000, valued at $1,200.

The couple were caught on a store surveillance camera and police have released the photos.

The suspects' vehicle is a dark colored compact, possibly a four-door. Anyone who can identify these suspects is asked to call K-9 Officer Corie Joerger at 778-4372.
