SRJC nationally recognized as great place to work

According to a recent survey conducted by the Chronicle of Higher Education, Santa Rosa Junior College is one of the best colleges to work for in the nation.

This year marks the fourth consecutive year that the college has received the distinction, and the college has been named an honor-roll institution. That is every year that SRJC has participated in the survey.

The results, released in the Chronicle’s ninth annual report on The Academic Workplace, are based on a survey of 46,000 employees at 281 institutions colleges nationwide. Out of the 281 participants, 93 colleges were recognized in one or more of 12 recognition categories for workplace quality. Forty-two of those 93 recognized colleges, including SRJC, received honors in multiple categories, thereby earning a spot on the Honor Roll.

SRJC is one of two California community colleges to earn this distinction, and one of only 12 community colleges nationwide to be named on the Honor Roll. These distinctions put SRJC among elite company.

SRJC stood out in eight out of 12 possible categories. This year, SRJC won honors in the categories of Collaborative Governance, Compensation and Benefits, Confidence in Senior Leadership, Diversity, Respect and Appreciation, Supervisor or Department Chair Relationship, Teaching Environment, and Professional/Career Development Programs.

SRJC President and Superintendent Dr. Frank Chong commented, “SRJC has a proud history of nearly 100 years of service to students and the community.
