Police Log

Here are some of the cases the Petaluma police responded to recently. The Argus-Courier publishes the names of people arrested for serious crimes such as those involving physical injury, property loss or damage of property, including burglary, battery, vandalism and drunken driving. People who are found innocent or who have charges dropped may contact the Argus-Courier to have follow-up information published.

Wednesday, Dec. 21

11:51 a.m.: Police arrested Petaluma’s Ricardo Ortiz, 18, at 1508 East Madison St. on suspicion of misdemeanors of receiving known stolen property, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of a narcotic controlled substance, possession of a switchblade knife in a vehicle and a violation of probation.

2:08 p.m.: Police took a report of an auto burglary at 20 Rainsville Road.

Thursday, Dec. 22

7:46 p.m.: Daniel Reiff, a 69-year-old transient, was arrested near East D Street on misdemeanor allegations of indecent exposure.

8:46 p.m.: Adailin Guzman-Alaniz, 24, of Petaluma was arrested at Bungalow Lane on suspicion of a misdemeanor of battery domestic battery on a spouse/ex/date/etc.

10:38 p.m.: Police arrested Petaluma resident Orhan Kaplankiran, 42, at the intersection of South Ely Rod and Mariposa Drive for allegedly driving under the influence, a misdemeanor.

3:06 p.m.: A vandalism was reported at 750 North McDowell Blvd.

Friday, Dec. 23

2:45 a.m.: Petaluma resident Roman Jennings, 22, was arrested at 1050 Petaluma Blvd. North on suspicion of public intoxication, a misdemeanor.

Saturday, Dec. 24

1:35 a.m.: Police arrested Petaluma’s Elizabeth Maguire, 21, on Garfield Drive on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence.

4:42 a.m.: Petaluma resident Dennis Kaukimoce, 43, was arrested near the intersection of Kentucky Street and Western Avenue on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor.

5:29 a.m.: Police arrested Angel Recinos-Guevara, a 24-year-old Petlauma resident, at 280 Douglas St. on suspicion of misdemeanors of fighting/challenge to fight in a public place and for a violation of probation.

7:04 a.m.: A burglary was reported at 137 Kentucky St.

Sunday, Dec. 25

11:45 a.m.: Patrick Murphy, 21, of Petaluma was arrested at 473 Hawk Drive on allegations of misdemeanor battery on a person.

Monday, Dec. 26

4:50 p.m.: Stephanie Eckhart, a 36-year-old Rohnert Park resident, was arrested at 1292 Berrydale Drive for alleged misdemeanors of child endangerment and driving under the influence, an infraction of possessing an open container while driving and for a bench warrant.

4:18 p.m.: A vandalism was reported at 1505 Sarkesian Drive.

Tuesday, Dec. 27

3:13 p.m.: Police arrested Gerald Sadler, 60, of Pinole at Magnolia Avenue and Petaluma Blvd. North on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor.

11:02 p.m.: A juvenile from Petaluma was arrested at 409 H St. for alleged misdemeanor battery on a person.
