World War II veteran William DeMorales dies

DeMorales worked at Hunt & Behrens for 46 years.|

Longtime Hunt & Behrens employee William DeMorales died on Dec. 12, 2014 due to complications from a broken hip. He was 89.

DeMorales graduated from St. Louis High School in Honolulu in 1945. He was drafted in the U.S. Army and served briefly during World War II.

He married Mona Martin, also from Hawaii, in Sebastopol in 1950. They had three children: Michael (deceased), Kathy and James.

DeMorales went to work in the office at Hunt & Behrens in 1952, where he continued working until he retired 46 years later.

He is preceded in death by six of eight siblings; Albert and George, are still living.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.
