Petaluma High School’s Sarah Jane Catarozoli has, for four years, been the leader of the Petaluma High School girls golf team and one of the best in the Sonoma County League. Now, she can lay claim to being the best in the Redwood Empire. Catarozoli has been chosen the All-Empire Player of the Year by The Press Democrat.
The senior capped off her high school career by averaging 42.6 per nine holes over the course of the season and winning the SCL Tournament with an 86 over 18 holes.
She shot a solid 84 in the North Coast Section Division 2 Championships, earning advancement to the Division 1 Championships, where she shot an 87, recording the best score of any of the Redwood Empire qualifiers for the event.
The Player of the Year’s sister, sophomore Lilly Catarozoli, was chosen to the All-Empire first team.
