City LL championship game on Friday

Three weeks of Little League play comes to a conclusion Friday night with the Petaluma Little League Major Division City Championship game at Lucchesi Park.|

The 2017 Petaluma Little League Major Division City Championships that started with every Major League team in town is down to four teams.

The semifinals in the single-elimination tournament were to be played Wednesday night with the title game on Friday at Lucchesi Park.

A third-place consolation game will be played at 5 p.m., with the title game at 7:30 p.m.

Emerging out of pool play to earn spots in the single-elimination bracket were Stephen J Lafranchi and Associates, the Petaluma National’s No. 2 seed; Maselli & Sons, the Petaluma American’s No. 4 seed; Roland Insurance, the Petaluma Valley’s No. 1 seed; Ohana Construction, the Petaluma National’s No. 7 seed; Pinky’s Pizza, the Petaluma National’s No. 1 seed; Unique Insurance, the Petaluma American’s No. 1 seed; Beyond the Glory, the Petaluma National’s No. 4 seed; and Athletic Edge, the Petaluma American’s No. 2 seed.

In the first round of elimination play, SJLA stopped Maselli and Sons, 10-3; Roland Insurance ousted Ohana Construction, 7-1; Unique Insurance edged Pinky’s Pizza, 3-2; and Athletic Edge beat Beyond the Glory, 8-2.

That left SJLA against Roland Insurance and Unique Insurance against Athletic Edge on Wednesday. Results were not available at press time.
